The difference between traditional oils and industrial oils can be compared to something familiar.

Freshly pressed juice and canned juice both come from the same fruit.
But the experience of drinking them is very different.

Industrial oil production often focuses on scale and efficiency. Large volumes require multiple processes such as refining, deodorising, and heavy filtration.

While these processes allow mass production, they can also remove many of the natural characteristics of the original ingredient.

Traditional oil extraction methods are slower. They rely on techniques like cold pressing or natural separation rather than aggressive processing.

The result is often an oil that retains more of its natural aroma, texture, and character.

At Ancient Gift Farm, understanding this difference became an important part of our philosophy.

As we explored further, another question naturally followed: how many ways are there to extract oil from a single ingredient?

The answer turned out to be more complex than most people realise. From traditional fermentation to mechanical cold pressing and modern industrial refining, each method produces a very different oil.

Discovering these methods would become the next step in our journey.
